چکیده
Abstract Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have recently drawn considerable attention in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology. However, a major drawback these NCs is reliance on toxic lead, which hinders widespread application. Herein, new class lead‐free NCs, that is, lanthanide double (Ln‐DP) with f‐orbital‐induced optical properties, introduced. The Pr‐, Ce‐, Tb‐, Eu‐, Sm‐, Yb‐based Ln‐DP display narrow d→f f→f emissions ranging from UV‐C to near‐infrared spectral region. Experimental data calculations reveal emissive exhibit small molecule‐like electronic absorptions: f→d atomic transitions or ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer transitions. Last, it demonstrated by alloying Ln compositions DP unique improved properties can be obtained. These are promising for sensing lighting, as components optoelectronic and/or magneto‐fluorescent devices.

Impurity-doping in nanocrystals significantly affects their electronic properties and diversifies their applications. Herein, we report the synthesis of transition metal (Mn, Ni, Co, Cu)-doped oleophilic silicon nanocrystals (SiNCs) through hydrolysis/polymerization of triethoxysilane with acidic aqueous metal salt solutions, followed by thermal disproportionation of the resulting gel into a do...
متن کاملSynthesis and Applications of Lanthanide-Doped Nanocrystals
In recent years, Lanthanide (Ln3+)-doped nanocrystals have become promising alternatives to organic fluorophore because Ln3+ ions can exhibit unique luminescent properties, such as large anti-Stokes shifts, low auto fluorescence background, low toxicity and high penetration depth [1]. In terms of the mechanism of luminescence, luminescence of Ln3+ ions can be divided into down-conversion and up...
متن کاملLabelling of silica microspheres with fluorescent lanthanide-doped LaF3 nanocrystals
Fluorescent microspheres have been demonstrated to be useful in a variety of biological applications. Fluorescent silica or polymer microspheres have been produced by incorporation of chromophores into the microspheres, which usually produces microspheres with nonuniform sizes and reduced fluorescence. Here we present a simple and straightforward method to produce silica microspheres with fluor...
متن کاملIntense NIR emissions at 0.8 μm, 1.47 μm, and 1.53 μm from colloidal LiYbF4:Ln(3+) (Ln = Tm(3+) and Er(3+)) nanocrystals.
We report on the synthesis of diamond shaped Ln(3+)-doped LiYbF4 (Ln = Tm and Er) nanocrystals with flat edges via the thermal decomposition method. Strong near-infrared emissions at 0.8 μm, 1.47 μm and 1.53 μm are observed from colloidal dispersions of Tm(3+)-doped and Er(3+)-doped LiYbF4 nanocrystals, respectively, under 0.98 μm diode laser excitation. The NIR emission intensities for Tm(3+)-...
متن کاملLigand Mediated Transformation of Cesium Lead Bromide Perovskite Nanocrystals to Lead Depleted Cs4PbBr6 Nanocrystals.
Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have emerged as attractive nanomaterials owing to their excellent optical and optoelectronic properties. Their intrinsic instability and soft nature enable a post-synthetic controlled chemical transformation. We studied a ligand mediated transformation of presynthesized CsPbBr3 NCs to a new type of lead-halide depleted perovskite derivative nanocrystal,...
